Torchwood has been renewed for a 2nd series! It will premiere on BBC
Two. Torchwood This Week http://groups.yahoo.com/group/torchwood has
the schedule information on spinoff series Torchwood.
The BBC is running a lot of Doctor Who programming this Christmas
season. First up will be The Christmas Invasion this Sunday at
4:25PM GMT on BBC One, the first Doctor Who repeat on BBC One
since Planet of the Daleks in 1993. BBC 7 airs the Christmas themed
radio story "The Chimes Of Midnight" on the 17th and 24th - see
listings below. Lots more programming will occur the week of
Christmas, including the premiere of The Runaway Bride (*2* airings
on BBC One), a radio documentary, a TV version of the Cardiff Doctor
Who concert on the red button service, the pilot episode for The
Sarah Jane Adventures, and the launch of new Doctor Who radio
episodes on BBC 7. The most up to date information is in the front of
the column below - odds are more programming will pop up before next
Wednesday's edition.
Christmas and New Years should see special programming in other countries as well:
Italy - Jimmy begins Series 2 with The Christmas Invasion - Christmas Eve 7:55pm
US - SciFi has an 8 hour marathon of Series 2 on Friday the 22nd, the US premieres of Army of Ghosts and Doomsday that night at 8PM Eastern to finish Series 2, and The Christmas Invasion (repeat) on Christmas Day at 3PM Eastern.
US - BBC America will have a special repeat of The Unquiet Dead (set on Christmas Eve 1869) on Christmas Eve at 9PM Eastern.
Canada - Ztele has reported that they will repeat The Christmas Invasion on Friday December 22 at 11PM to tie into Christmas - their actual schedule information for next week is sketchy.
Australia - UKTV will air all of Series 1 as a marathon on New Years Eve, starting at Noon.
SciFi US Viewer Advisory - This Friday's airings of Fear Her are
currently scheduled at 8PM and 12:02AM Eastern/Pacific in most online
listings. The 9PM airing of Battlestar Galactica is reportedly
running 62 minutes, causing the odd start time. SciFi's website does
not reflect this change.
Italian station Jimmy http://www.jimmy140.it has scheduled their first airing of The Christmas Invasion for Christmas Eve at 7:55pm. The rest of Series 2 will air on the 13 subsequent weeks.
New Zealand station Prime http://www.primetv.co.nz is doing a repeat
run of Series 1 starting this Monday at 7:30PM. These episodes
originally aired on Prime from July to September 2005.
